More tiles, more painting
I’ve been working on my tiles for an upcoming show Push Pull Print . I came down with some crazy sickness for almost a month which delayed my creativity a bit but this week I’m finally feeling better and finished up the remaining tiles.
These two are the final ones. The tile on the left depicts Vishnu’s incarnation as the Buddha. The one on the right depicts Vishnu’s predicted last incarnation in which he comes in on a white horse during the final days of Kali Yuga. I’ve always been interested in stories of reincarnation and the theory of the yugas as time periods. For some reason people want their generation to be the last one. It was fun to paint and think about life. Hopefully, I’ll sell some tiles at this show.
I’ve still been working on this stand in of Michelangelo’s David. I added the leaf last night, I will most likely paint more into this to make the leaf feel at home. It’s on a bolt so the leaf can swivel, for the curious to be able to take a peek. I’m very excited to get this completed and put out into public for some use.
I’ve also begun 25 small paintings on wooden scraps left over from building the stand ins. These are in the process of drying then I will paint into them again. It feels good to be healthy and productive again.
Really like the top two
