Nag Tile

I’ve been spending lots of time organizing this Fun A Day project with a big group show in February. Click on that link to learn more about that and let me know if you want to join me. I’m still working on the tiles for the Push Pull Print show in December.

Sorry about the lousy photo, it’s raining out so I took it in my studio. In this tile, I have Vishnu sitting on Nag afloat on the cosmic waters, the lotus has blossomed thus beginning creation. Over his head he is signing Tuesday which in my mind is the day of creation. I began with tile because of its imperfections, I attempted a second one last night but hit a wall.

Over the weekend, a friend helped me with the construction of some plywood stand ins. I just began some rough sketches on them and I’ll have a model over tomorrow night to help with one of these. I’ve been planning on making these for a while but didn’t know how to go about it. I’m so grateful for the help I received 🙂
