Camping at Mauch Chunk Lake
I decided to practice watercolor painting during my week-long vacation at Mauch Chunk Lake. I set aside some time each day to do some painting. I’m happy that each of my paintings turned out nicer than the previous one.
Here is the mountain behind the lake, the clouds create interesting shadows on the tree tops.
I always wanted to visit a lake with a floating lifeguard stand, it was fun to jump from but there was no diving allowed.
Here is the dam and mountains behind the Mauch Chunk Lake, my paint brushes were too thick to accurately portray the radio tower.
This is a tree with interesting blues in the bark at my campsite.
I love the water and grasses in this painting.
A quick painting of Schwa lighting our campfire for dinner.
This is a really great painting of the three trunked tree next to our cabin, it looks really nice framed and matted on my http://www.amyrims.imagekind.com site!
I spent a long time on this painting, it was much more challenging than mountains and the lake since I couldn’t lie about the details as much.
I’m really happy with these paintings. I wish I could spend more time at the campground painting but it was time to come home and get back to real life. If you like one or all of these paintings you may purchase a print or the original by contacting me through this blog or finding me and my paintings on Main Street during Lansdale’s First Friday celebrations.
Absolutely gorgeous Amy. I love with anticipation for an Email from my subscription of your new work (s). You truly are talented 🙂
